The irritable hip. A relatively common condition with quite a broad differential. The job is always to rule out the significant pathology especially osteomyelitis and septic arthritis. Sometimes completing the task by completing the tests does require investigations in hospital. One of the reasons for this is approval to x-ray in paediatric patients and time taken to get ESR and CRP.
