Completion of a PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) or APLS (Advanced Paediatric Life Support) course is required for all urgent care registrars.  The College arranges a 2-day PALS course with the University of Auckland – Simulation Centre for Patient Safety. It is suitable for all health professionals with a need for advanced skills, competence and confidence in paediatric emergency situations and who may be required to respond to a paediatric cardiovascular emergency.

RNZCUC recommends booking your place on a PALS course well ahead of time as places are limited.

Registrars, especially those living outside of Auckland, are permitted to find alternative providers or attend on dates other than those arranged by RNZCUC. Registrars must contact the TPC (alex@rnzcuc.org.nz) for any applicable discount codes. HWNZ-funded registrars must first confirm how much of the training fee will be refunded from HWNZ funds.
