The Faculty na hÉireann (FNE) was created in 2021 with the objective of actively promoting and supporting initiatives for the recognition of Urgent Care as a specialty in Ireland. As the work expanded to include a centre in the UK, FNE has since been had a name change (to the Ireland and UK Faculty, RNZCUC) in 2022 to reflect it’s expanding work.

The IUKF presently has collaborations with various educational providers both in Ireland and UK to help registrars complete their educational requirements for the Fellowship programme with the RNZCUC. These include the iHeed/Royal College of Physicians Ireland and the University of Aberdeen.

IUKF is also in ongoing conversations with various entities in the UK, to work towards getting urgent care recognition as a specialty in the UK.
