There are accredited urgent care clinics, which hold a contract with ACC to provide urgent care.

Additionally, some emergency departments (including rural hospital ED) and a few General Practice clinics have been approved as urgent care training facilities because they meet or exceed the requirements.

There are several GP clinics purporting to offer urgent care services. RNZCUC supports efforts to provide care for urgent conditions in the community and welcomes the provision of services that support this. However, the GP clinics are NOT accredited urgent care clinics. If in doubt, confirm with the clinic on their accreditation as an urgent care clinic or check with RNZCUC.
