Bootcamp

We recently sent out emails to all members about the Bootcamp and Fellowship Ceremony and Dinner, taking place in Wellington on 14 and 14 September. Tickets are now available to be purchased for both. Planning for the Bootcamp continues, with details being added to the Bootcamp post as and when they become available. It is shaping up to be an exciting weekend, with our usual short-form talks on the Saturday and longer panel discussions on the Sunday.

Presenters and Fellows receiving their certificates – make sure you follow the instructions and use the links in your email, not the general links.

Resuscitation Council

We are pleased to announce that we have a new member of the College as our representative on the Resuscitation Council. Melanie Trimboy has replaced Cheyenne Heka on the council. The College would like to thank Cheyenne for her contribution and membership of the council, and to Melanie for picking up the reins.

Innovation and Excellence in Primary Care

We are pleased to advise that we are a supporting organisation for the Innovation and Excellence in Primary Care conference, taking place in Auckland 18 and 19 November. We have two speakers presenting on day two, sharing information about the contribution of urgent care to patients and the impact for the health system.

There is discount code for our members – “SupportingCare200“. The promo code can be applied at checkout, after selecting “Buy Ticket” on the right-hand side in the Promotional Code tab. Applying the code will give $200 off on all tickets, except the Masterclass tickets.

When selecting the ticket option, be sure to select the ‘practice rate’ which applies to all those working in urgent care clinics and GP practices.

Surveys

Thank you to those who completed the POCUS survey (it was sent to clinic MD). It is currently with Kelvin who will be completed a review and report for sharing.

We have an open survey at the moment, as we are consulting with registrars, supervisors, Fellows, and MD about the revised core skills list.  The survey is only a few questions long, and we’d value your input. This is one of a series of consultations that the College will be completing in the coming months, as we share more concrete plans and ideas on the future of the training programme.

Governance Review

The review of the College’s governance structures is well underway, with consultants from Allen and Clarke conducting research and interviews with all Executive Committee members, committee convenors, and executive management team. Recommendations will be presented to the Executive Committee later this year, and the plan is to present a proposal to the members at the AGM in 2025. If accepted, the following year will require a review and update of Society rules, relevant policies, and governance procedures, as well as the development of a change management plan. Our aim would be to have the new governance structures fully in place by the 2026 AGM.
