Our inaugural UC Boot Camp last year was a great success, but the mammoth amount of work and organisation meant that it was decided to make it a biennial event. In its place this year we were planning a virtual equivalent, designed to be accessible to all members wherever you are in the world. We wanted to make a convenient, interactive, environmentally friendly and cost-effective virtual CME weekend that would provide your UC educational fix for the year.
Our planning for this event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainties it placed on our community. But as we come out of lockdown, now is the time to press on with the organising. As luck would have it, COVID-19 has provided a further highly compelling reason to explore the virtual world of conferences, so even if NZ sees a resurgence in COVID cases in the coming months, our virtual Bootcamp will still proceed. The date will be the weekend of 19 September (the exact order of play is yet to be determined)
Check your emails as there will be an invitation to present at this event.
Once we have a line-up of speakers and topics, we will be able to finalise the order of play and ticket costs. What we can say though, due to minimal overheads in an event like this, tickets will be very reasonable, and you will be able to access the event from the comfort of your own home.
The talks will be arranged in sessions and there will be plenty of time between sessions to pop out for a coffee or a run. We hope to ensure that you get all the benefits of a conference, educationally, but still have time to enjoy your weekend with your family.
The sessions will be interactive, with polls and an opportunity to ask questions. There will be some themed sessions and some discussion panels.
So check your emails if you fancy presenting, otherwise mark the weekend of 19 September down in your diary, as wherever you are in the world, you can log in and join the RNZCUC at a virtual educational smorgasbord.
