About the role – Mō te tūranga mahi

As a Medical Advisor you’ll work as part of ACC’s multidisciplinary clinical advisory team, specifically in our Sensitive Claims portfolio, providing high-quality clinical advice to inform decisions on ACC Sensitive claims. You’ll evaluate and interpret clinical information, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and contribute to positive recovery and rehabilitation outcomes for clients, all within the legislative framework of the ACC Act.

We’re seeking dedicated Medical Advisors to join our dynamic team. You’ll play a pivotal role in applying medical expertise, supporting ACC staff, and helping ensure fair and timely decisions that make a real difference for New Zealanders.

The appointing salary for this role is $245,036, and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution. About you – Mōu

You will bring:

  • Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a relevant scope of practice, and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Relevant clinical experience.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including producing high-quality, understandable clinical documentation.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
