Developed in collaboration with Sepsis Trust NZ, clinical experts, system partners, and stakeholders, the package aims to improve the recognition and timely treatment of sepsis in hospitals across Aotearoa New Zealand. It provides hospitals and clinical teams with practical tools, guidance, and measures to support implementation and drive sustainable improvements in patient outcomes.
Key components of the package include:
- Clinical tools and guides: Sepsis pathways for adult, paediatric and maternity patients, endorsed by Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and related resources to support implementation
- Governance resource: Guidance on governance for sepsis in hospitals
- Measurement guidance: Sepsis definition, measures and related information
- Educational materials: Resources to build staff knowledge and capability
