Do you have a passion for removing barriers to healthcare and social support for young people, and are interested in governance?

Evolve is a Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS) delivering free integrated primary health care and social support services to young people aged 10-24 years old in the Wellington region. Our dedicated healthcare, social support, counselling and admin teams support over 4,000 young people in the Wellington area.  Evolve is committed to providing connected, courageous and equitable services.

All Board roles are voluntary, but in return you will get an awesome opportunity to create meaningful change in a not-for-profit that does awesome work with young people (and kai at our monthly hui!) 

Board meetings are held in the evening of the fourth Thursday of every month at our Cuba Street location. A board member can expect to work 8-10 hours per month, but more hours will occasionally be required.

Key duties for a clinical board member include: 

  • Helping set the strategic direction of Evolve
  • Providing your clinical expertise in strategic and organisational decision making 
  • Overseeing appropriate policies and procedures to ensure Evolve’s continued good
  • governance  
  • Playing a part in Evolve consensus based governance decision making
  • Ensuring Evolve’s values are upheld.

We are particularly keen to hear from young people (under the age of 30) who would like to get experience on a governance board. In return, we can offer a welcoming environment with development from experienced board members.

As always, we are seeking board members with diverse lived experiences – such as those who are LGBTQI+, refugees, Māori, Pasifika, or our homeless whānau. 

Evolve commits to upholding te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles, so a working knowledge of te Tiriti is highly desirable.
