Tēnā koutou. Thank you for everyone’s patience and understanding as several components of the training programme have been introduced or revised. Here are some quick updates for trainees.

TalentLMS

All trainees should now have access to the online urgent care course (UCC) and the Leadership Module through TalentLMS. All of the compulsory external courses and resources, as well as the core skills have also been included in TalentLMS under “Externally-provided courses” and “Core skills and DOPS” respectively. If you do not have access to any of the above modules in your TalentLMS login, or have not received a TalentLMS login yet, please contact Alex (TPC) or the office as soon as possible.

Curriculum 2025

The curriculum is available through the RNZCUC website – please note there are two slightly different versions based on whether you are in the “Pre-2025” or “Post-2024” training programme. All of the required skills and knowledge required to complete the training programme is included in these documents so I would encourage you to access these and become familiar with it throughout your training.

Leadership Module

As stated above, the leadership module is now available to access through TalentLMS. Please contact the office if you do not see the course in your course list. This course is also available to Fellows and is accredited for 8 hours of CPD once you have uploaded your certificate of completion to UCCIS. There are a range of assessments throughout the module – please read the instructions carefully as two of the assessments require you to email the College after you have submitted.

UCC Feedback

The process for managing feedback regarding the content of the UCC is in the process of being improved to ensure the UCC remains accurate and up to date, and that registrars are aware of any changes being made, particularly so that those studying for UCPEX are not disadvantaged in the event of any edits. This process is still being finalized, but in the meantime, we welcome any feedback for the online UCC by please emailing uc.course.correction@rnzcuc.org.nz. Please specify the speciality and topic the feedback refers to.

Work-Based Assessments

As you are all aware, work-based assessments have been introduced to the post-2024 training programme. For more information, see this link, which includes a link to the video recording of the webinar we conducted with supervisors and fellows outlining the WBAs. For those who have completed a WBA, we also encourage feedback to the College, particularly factors which aided in its completion and barriers or areas of improvement – see contact us.
