Tēnā koutou. This month will contain some brief updates around the progress the College has been making towards a new curriculum and several new components of the training programme.
But firstly, I’d like to thank all the trainees who attended the registrar orientation webinar last Friday. What a great turnout and it was fantastic to meet (or see again) all the new trainees who have joined since the last webinar. We hope you found the orientation helpful, and as those on the webinar are aware, the information sessions have been recorded for future reference as there is important information about the work based assessments (WBAs), the College’s governance and general information that all trainees may find useful if they have not been able to attend the webinars previously.
In terms of College progress, the new curriculum is in its final stages of review after external consultation was received over the last few weeks, so should be published on the College website very soon. The College will advise as soon as it is available.
We thank everyone for their patience regarding the Urgent Care Course and leadership module. The UC course is now online and you should have received login instructions on how to access the UC course – if you have not received this, particularly if you may be eligible or planning to sit UCPEX this year, please contact Alex (TPC – tpc@rnzcuc.org.nz). While we have reviewed and checked the material several times with several reviewers to ensure the content is accurate and the website links are functioning, we are still happy to receive feedback on the course content, particularly if website links are broken. While we are still finalising a review process, for now please email info@rnzcuc.org.nz with general feedback or errors you notice, or for broken website links specifically please email uccbrokenlink@rnzcuc.org.nz
The Leadership module has had some further consultation so general access has had to be delayed by another few weeks and we are aiming to have it available from early May 2025. As a reminder this is aimed towards pre-fellowship trainees (on the post 2024 training programme), senior registrars (on the pre-2025 training programme) or any Fellows. This is also recognized as CPD by the College. We again apologise for any inconvenience its delay may cause.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we continue the transition period between training programmes for the College. Please contact the College with any issues or feedback as we recognize there have been some significant changes, particularly in the last few months.
Ngā mihi,
Adrianne Pimentel
