For this month’s newsletter, I wish to impress upon you all the following requirement of the recertification programme.

  • Your annual recertification requires you to keep and maintain a Professional Development Plan (PDP).

Your PDP is a personal document, and you may design and keep this in any way that you choose. The College does provide a template for you to use if you want. This template and other details of the PDP can be found at this link.

The PDP should be discussed at your Structured Annual Conversation (SAC), and you are encouraged to review your PDP at any stage throughout your CPD year.

The PDP goals generated from this process must be recorded in your UCCIS portfolio. This enables the College to see that the PDP is being reviewed and updated. It also enables you to link CPD activities to the Goals as they are completed.

Audits of UCCIS portfolios have shown that this process is not happening in a reasonable number of cases. Compliance checks at the end of each year will be checking that PDP goals are being uploaded, and you will risk non-compliance if you do not complete this section of UCCIS.

To add your PDP goals to UCCIS, look to the top right corner of your CPD page, and you will see a button marked “View Goals”.

The view goals button at the top right of your UCCIS portfolio takes you to where you can view, add and edit goals

There is also a short video that takes you through the process of uploading your goals, which you can watch below.

If you have any issues updating your PDP goals, please contact admin@rnzcuc.org.nz
