Welcome to the first DPD newsletter of 2025. Happy New Year.
The College is forming the Urgent Care Research Network. This will be a voluntary network of urgent care clinicians interested in research and aims to result in increased urgent care specific research being published.
Within the urgent care community, there are clinicians with experience in all aspects of research and publishing and there are many who, with the right support and guidance are keen to develop their own research ideas and aspirations.
By connecting these people from all around New Zealand, and indeed the world, we hope that we can support, encourage and direct research within the urgent care space and, as a result, see an increase in work being published that pertains to the conditions and patients we treat in our urgent care clinics.
If you are interested in joining the network please follow this link to the page on which there is more information and links to the registration form.
Your continuing professional development activities most likely utilise teachings and research done by people from all over the world. This helps keep your knowledge and practice current and qualified. By getting engaged with research and publication within the urgent care space you will not only be providing yourself with valuable professional development opportunities but you will also be helping guide the whole urgent care community and contribute to the overall development of our speciality.
So if you have any interest in being involved in helping develop and guide future urgent care research, why not join a network of peers who will support each other in meeting the goals of the Urgent Care Research Network.
