As far as diverticulitis is concerned there is absolutely no evidence supporting antibiotic use. But we still do it. Simple conditions require treatments. If the patient is not improving with or without antibiotics they require interventions. You did not mention valaciclovir (for acute management) apart from prophylactic dose.
Is it equivalent to acyclovir for acute management?
