Kia ora koutou,
It is my pleasure to produce this month’s DCT newsletter.
SDAW:
The skills demonstration and assessment weekend (SDAW) was on the 16th and 17th of August. The feedback was exceptionally positive, and it was great to see the registrars in person. A big thank you to the examiners and demonstrators who attended.
TalentLMS and the Urgent Care Course:
The leadership module is now live, and all registrars completing the training programme after November are required to complete this, so keep it on your radar. It is for senior registrars who have passed UCPEX and are near fellowship.
Workplaces on UCCIS:
Yet another reminder that any workplaces that you intend to claim hours from should be listed in your UCCIS under urgent care workplaces. This applies to even clinics owned by the same company.
MLP and Research Methods:
The MLP has now closed, and so all registrars must now complete a research methods in health paper or publish a research article. See the website for details.
Supervision Forms:
The college is reviewing all supervision meeting forms. You may be contacted if your UCCIS is not up to date. A reminder that all registrars who are junior or basic trainees require meetings every 3 months, and senior or advanced trainees every 4 months. The forms must contain details of how many hours on average you work with your supervisor, and if there are any dispensations for reduced on-site supervision, such as in an emergency department.
UCPEX 2025:
Invitations are now live for the UCPEX 2025 if you haven’t received an invitation, please contact Alex.
Textbook Update:
The education committee is reviewing the college textbooks on 10/9/25, and any changes will be made after that.
Bootcamp:
Urgent Care Bootcamp is this Saturday 13 September. I look forward to seeing you there. Please click here if you need to buy tickets.
Registrar Sub-Committee:
As always, if you need to make contact with the registrar subcommittee or if you are interested in joining this motivated group, email regsc@rnzcuc.org.nz
Ngā mihi,
