Adrian is a Yorkshireman by birth. He joined the UK military from school and attended the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, spending most of his time as a young officer either on operational tours in Northern Ireland or in Germany (mostly skiing).  He subsequently the Joint Service Command and Staff Course as a senior officer, before leaving the service after 19 years.  After a move to Aotearoa and the setting up of a family-owned and run health clinic, Adrian changed tack and entered into the health system as a manager.  He became the College General Manager at the very start of 2017.

A keen skier, snowboarder and mountain biker, he has two dogs (sometimes fostering others) and many houseplants.
