Would you like to feel more confident in having discussions with patients and others about their suicidal thoughts?

Researchers at the University of Auckland have noticed there are not many resources available to support health professionals on this topic. They have developed a podcast series designed to support healthcare professionals in developing knowledge, confidence and skills for engaging in these important conversations.

The podcasts explore:

  • Why suicidal thoughts can occur, including social, emotional, and community factors
  • How to approach conversations safely and compassionately
  • How to support people impacted by suicide and suicidal thoughts
  • How to care for your own wellbeing when dealing with these situations

The resource is designed for all healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals. It is open to students, practising professionals, and healthcare educators across community, hospital, and university settings.
