The Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care is establishing an Urgent Care Research Network to bring together anyone with an interest in all aspects connected to research in the urgent care field.
It is hoped that by connecting people who share a common interest in developing urgent care research we will be able to encourage and support important research specific to the practice of urgent care.
Aims
- To increase the amount of urgent care specific research being completed
- To connect clinicians so that they can share knowledge and experience
- To promote urgent care research
- To improve access to funding and assist in grant applications
- To advocate for urgent care research
- To increase the amount of urgent care based publications
- To support registrars, and all UC clinicians interested in research.
Structure
The Urgent Care Research Network will be a voluntary group that will form within the RNZCUC. The College will store member details within its IT database.
A committee will be formed to create terms of reference and decide on how the network will develop and function. The potential considerations of the new committee might include:-
- Meeting frequency and aims
- Establishment of regional representatives
- How the group will connect people and enable networking
- Research grant strategy
- Research grant management
- A Research Hui held at Bootcamp events
- Engagement with other networks
- Project and idea development and support
- Publication support
- Promotion of activities
- Other research-related work as determined by the committee.
Joining the network
If you are a clinician working in or around urgent care and would like to join the network please complete this registration form.
The Research Network is open to all clinicians. Urgent care Fellows, registrars, nurse practitioners, paramedics, GPs, and students. All are welcome to contribute to this voluntary network.
Once initial members have been established, a committee will be formed, and terms of reference will be created.
