Scaphoid Fractures

Are kids with suspected scaphoid fractures different to adults with suspected scaphoid fractures?

Scaphoid fractures are less common in the under 16 yr olds and exceptionally rare under 12 yrs of age.
I have seen scaphoid fractures in 12 year olds.
My approach is with a normal xray to splnt rather than cast and review in 10-14 days.
