Introduction
The Trauma Workshop course is run by the Simulation Centre for Patient Safety (SCPS) for the Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care (RNZCUC). It is intended for Doctors who do not provide Trauma Care routinely. EMST or ATLS courses are encouraged for those who do.
The workshop is intended as a formative experience in delivering prompt clinical care to patients within a robust and safe framework but assessed based on your completion of the skills training and successful participation in the scenarios. A certificate will be issued after the workshop, there is currently no requirement for update or recertification.

You may complete online self-assessment quiz prior coming to the course. It may be worth doing this quiz and will not form part of the assessment.
Course Schedule

Student Manual
A student manual named Trauma Care Pre-Hospital Manual will be posted to you 4-5 weeks before the course starts to the address you provided during registration.
Catering
Catering will be provided during the course (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea). Please ensure to inform your dietary requirements during registration.
Location

Please note you will not receive course certification unless you attend the whole day: from 0800 to 1730 unless the course finishes earlier. A timetable is included in the pre-reading.
Cancellation
Please note that the College has a cancellation policy. If you find that you are suddenly unable to attend you must let us know immediately.
