Your community needs you …. !
At this time more than ever, Te Whatu Ora Waitematā is working towards creating an Emergency Service with a focus on delivering excellent emergency care.
You will be joining an open, energetic, and friendly SMO team with a culture of collaboration, support and curiosity. We will challenge you to continue to develop your interests and skills. We are passionate about what we do.
Waitematā Emergency Departments, at North Shore and Waitākere, service the largest district by population in the country with a diverse range of presentations. As a service we are committed to a culture of high performance, clinical innovation and teamwork. Both departments have Emergency Medicine trainees, Junior doctors and a Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse practitioner workforce with many opportunities for teaching and education.
We are specifically looking for Urgent Care physicians to work in our waiting room/front of house ambulatory stream over our busiest presentation rate (Midday-10pm) either casual or permanent. We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual with urgent care expertise, and with a focus on high quality patient throughput to help manage our population needs.
What can this role offer me?
This role will give you a unique opportunity to work across two sites offering exposure to two very different patient populations. Both sites have an annual presentation rate of around 50,000 emergency patients.
If you are looking at relocating with family Waitematā may also have options for your partner, with many opportunities for employment across the specialty services.
Both hospitals are easily accessible from central Auckland giving you an opportunity to base yourself anywhere in the Auckland region. Auckland’s North Shore is one of Auckland’s most desirable locales, combining well-established urban areas with pockets of native bush, golden beaches, and thriving café culture. There are many quality options for public, private and integrated schooling in the area. Waitākere is in West Auckland which is an area known for rugged hills, pristine native bush, scenic waterfalls, walking and biking tracks, as well as black sand surf beaches. There’s also a great sense of community spirit that binds the diverse population
