Important information - Registrars

Urgent Care Course online

We have a small team updating the information in the online urgent care course. The team have almost completed module one (Medicine), and work on the remaining modules continues. Registrars completing the Urgent Care Course should focus on reading module one for now, and the remaining modules from April onwards.

Advanced Core Skills

We missed one core skill (knee arthrocentesis) from the core skills. It has been added to the Core Skills Lists page.

Important information - clinical audits - everyone

Patient Satisfaction Survey (PSS)

We still receive PSS that have been handled by the doctors themselves. The reception/administration team in your clinic are to hand out, and collect, the PSS forms, then send them to the College without review by the doctor.
Please ensure you hand the administration staff the following general instructions. Information about the PSS is available on our website, see this page.

Clinical Notes Audit (CNA)

You MUST anonymise the clinical notes you send to us by removing all details that identify the patient. Keep clinically important information, such as ethnicity, age, and sex, visible. If we receive non-anonymised clinical notes we will ask doctors to resubmit them with patient details removed.
Go to the CNA instructions page for more details.

College news

Boot camp news

At the recent Executive Committee (ExC) meeting, the ExC decided that we would not hold the Boot Camp in the same format as last year. This is due to the significant advanced planning and preparation required at a time that we are yet to appoint a new Director of Professional Development.
There is a good possibility that we will hold something in its place, on the same weekend (18 or 19 September). We are completing an initial feasibility study and hope to provide an update very soon.

Reminder – nominations for Executive Committee

A reminder that nominations for the Executive Committee are now open. At the 2020 AGM there will be three vacancies to be filled; one officer position (secretary) and two committee member positions. You may nominate yourself or another member of the College. If you wish to nominate another member, please first confirm that they would like to stand for a position, and which position(s). Email the General Manager (adrian@rnzcuc.org.nz) with your nomination. Read more.
