Executive Committee and standing committees – members for 2021-22

Following on from the AGM, the College Executive Committee (ExC) co-opts members and appoints convenors of the standing committees. This year, the ExC appointed a member to represent Māori members, and an educational specialist. The latter is needed to ensure the training programme meets high academic standards. Read more.

Seeking new members for the Facility Audit Committee

The College is seeking new members to join the Facility Audit Subcommittee. The role is described in the FAC guidance document. The ideal candidate would be a current or recent ex-MD with an interest in the audit and compliance aspects of urgent care facilities. In the first instance, please send expressions of interest to the General Manager (adrian@rnzcuc.org.nz).

Cultural safety resources

We’re pleased to share that the cultural safety resources page is now available for viewing.

We’ve also updated the Tikanga Māori best practice audit. This is accompanied by the Tikanga Best Practice Guidelines for Primary and Community Healthcare in the rohe of Ngāti Whātua document. Ngāti Whātua advise that while the guidance is available to all those who would find it helpful, should you have members that work outside of the Ngāti Whātua region and would like further information or support they may like to reach out to the local mana whenua or see if the local DHB may be able to assist. Our College Māori advisory group may also be able to advise.

POCUS position statement

We've finalised the College's position statement on POCUS. Please review it and provide feedback via the General Manager (adrian@rnzcuc.org.nz). The College is continuining to develop resources in this area and will be able to share them during the year.
