Recertification reminder - SAC and Essential Knowledge Quiz

Fellows are reminded that they should be completing the structured annual conversation each year. The SAC webinar tutorial is a useful resource.
Remember too that the essential knowledge quiz is now part of annual CPD.
In all cases, please record activities into UCCIS along with supporting documentation.

Consultation on policies - Registrar performance policy

We are seeking your input into the Registrar Performance Policy, which has been updated to align more with MCNZ requirements. The latest draft version for your feedback is available online. The current version is available via the website. The new version includes statements regarding when supervisors or the College should inform MCNZ or employers in the case of patient safety concerns, and health, conduct, or competence concerns. The policy tidies up the overall process of checking on progress and compliance.
Please email feedback on the new policy to policy@rnzcuc.org.nz by 9am 1 November.

Recording clinical hours in UCCIS – workplace is required

When claiming clinical hoursin UCCIS, you should be identifying which clinics you worked at.
  1. In the “My Profile” part of UCCIS, under the “Employment and Education” tab, please make sure you identify your current workplaces. Once you no longer work at a declared clinic, please remove it from this list.
  2. When loading the activity into your CPD/TPS, you will see a drop-down list of clinics. This is based on the clinics listed in the "My Profile" section. Make sure that you select a clinic.

Fellow Research

A couple of our Executive Committee members have recently been published with articles that are worth reading. Dr Matt Wright studied the frequency and profile of calls to Healthline with abdominal pains and Dr Dinesh Deonarain wrote a case study about a miraculous survival of a mountaineer he treated who had fallen 400 metres off Mount Everest.
