Online resuscitation course

A while ago the College approved, for 2022 only, a one-off resus online refresher to allow those behind through Covid to catch up. It is finally ready. Whilst it covers all CORE skills topics, the practical element is missing. We recommend you access a training mannequin to practise the skills.

Please use this link to register directly with ResuscitationSkills: https://www.resuscitationskills.com/our-courses/e-learning/e-advancedlifesupport

The College will accept this as meeting the refresher requirement for 2022 only, and for those needing to complete a refresher training. If you need to complete the NZRC CORE Advanced this year, this course does not meet that requirement.

Upcoming webinars

Recertification webinar - 11 July at 6:30 pm
We will hold our next webinar to discuss the revised recertification programme on 11 July at 6:30 pm. This will be an opportunity for all those currently on the programme to attend and ask questions about the programme.
To register for this webinar click here.

SAC webinar - July 18 at 6:30 pm
The structured annual conversation is a new component of the recertification programme and must be completed at the end of each CPD year. For those of you whose CPD year ends at the end of August, you should be starting to make plans for your SAC.
To help explain and demonstrate what is expected of an SAC we will be holding a webinar on July 18 at 6:30 pm.
There will be a presentation, including a demonstration of an SAC, followed by an opportunity for Q+A.

Policy review

The College is conducting a review of several policies and seeking feedback from members.
If you have any comments on any of these policies, please send them by email to policy@rnzcuc.org.nz by 15 July.

Urgent Care College Information System

UCCIS information,, guides, and recordings of recent tutorials are available on the website.

There have been a few minor upgrades recently. The peer group functionality should be installed in the second half of July. This will allow peer group organisers to load a CPD activity for all who attended. In the meantime, please continue to load peer group activity yourselves. Once the peer group function is available we will run tutorials for organisers.

We are hoping to have a Training Programme plan covering all items of the training programme, including annual items, by the end of July. We may need a little longer to move training records (currently called your TPS) across.

General news

Vaccine mandate change

The Government is amending the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021 so that the workers who must be vaccinated against COVID-19 are those who face a higher risk of contracting and transmitting COVID-19 in the workplace than in the wider community. This means Government vaccine mandates for some health and disability sector workers are being removed.
