Update to CRM - personal profile information

We're starting a process to review and update our 'CRM' (the information we hold, and how we use it). From next week, this won't be available via the website as we are migrating to a local database. We'll be manually checking we hold the right information. To help us, please login to the website, check and update your personal details this weekend.

Putting training or recertification on hold

If you intend to put training on recertification on hold, it is very important that you tell us before the intended date, or immediately that you choose to do it.

We’ve encountered challenges with our data and reporting because we’ve been trying to accommodate situations when doctors give us a backdated day that they went on hold (either training or recertification). This has caused us significant problems, so from an administration perspective we can no longer do this. The date we use is the earliest of the date we receive your communication, or the date you tell us that you intend to go on hold.

On return, your request to rejoin the programme is assessed by the DCT/DPD, and if necessary, the Board of Censors.

Urgent Care Bootcamp 2021

The programme for the second in-person Bootcamp conference is taking shape, and tickets will be on sale next week. We are thrilled to be heading to South Island and the beautiful city of Christchurch. Among many exciting speakers, we are delighted to announce that Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General of Health and Dr Anna Clark, Deputy Director-General, Health Workforce, Dr Andrew Connolly Acting Chief Medical Officer, will be attending the weekend and other VIP have been invited. Curriculum

The Curriculum subcommittee has completed the new curriculum document which will be posted on the College website on Tuesday. There are no new training requirements, but the outcomes have been better defined, in several layers. RNZCUC encourages your feedback on this curriculum document. Please look out for the post from Tuesday next week.

MCNZ Accreditation

RNZCUC is due for reaccreditation as a vocational training programme and recertification programme provider by MCNZ. We've completed a significant amount of work in preparation for this review. The report is due for submission on 7 May, and we will be visited by MCNZ on 15 and 16 June.
As part of the accreditation process, MCNZ will be conducting a survey with registrars to get feedback and hear your perspectives of the training programme, as well as meeting with registrars, supervisors, and external stakeholders. The College encourages participation in these activities.

Registrar representatives

The two registrars on the Executive Committee are Stephanie Claxton and Sarah Gardiner, who have made valuable contributions to the College during the last year. Sarah is also the convenor of the new Registrar subcommittee and therefore a member of the Education committee so she can directly feedback on registrar concerns or issues. Their contact details are:
Steph: stephanie.claxton@rnzcuc.org.nz
Sarah: sarah.gardiner@rnzcuc.org.nz
