EOLCA position statement
The College has developed a position statement on the End of Life Care Act and urgent care.
- Services provided as part of EOLCA are not urgent care.
- All members must read the MCNZ statement on EOLCA.
- Anyone wishing to provide this service must engage with the SCENZ group.
- Clinics wishing to create policies should engage with MoH for relevant templates, examples, and advice.
- Any enquiries to the office about EOLCA will receive a response that the enquiry should go to MoH.
The RNZCUC position statement includes relevant contact details and links to references.

Submitting Clinical Notes for audit
Due to privacy concerns, we ask that notes submitted for audit are now scanned by you, and then submitted. We are able to set up a shared folder so that you do not have to email them.
You MUST ensure that all information that could be used to personally identify the patient are removed, and that notes are numbered to aid the assessment process. Instructions on this are provided on the website.
We can only accept posted-in notes as a very last resort and will require that they be anonymised fully, double-enveloped, and sent using a full tracking service courier.
