Work in Sunny Hawkes Bay – Urgent Care Physician

Hastings – the heart of Hawke’s Bay. Hastings is a mecca for food and wine lovers. It’s also a great place to enjoy the outdoors, with outstanding beaches, cycling trails and walking tracks, and iconic natural landmarks such as Cape Kidnappers and Te Mata Peak.

We are keen to speak with Urgent Care Physicians who wish to work in our walk-in Urgent Care Clinic at our brand new facility in The Hastings Health Centre.  We are flexible to an approach with regard to hours  and days of work (including part time), and/or leadership opportunities.

Our busy facility provides Urgent Care to Hastings, Havelock North and Napier patients. Our consulting team consists of three RNZCUC Fellows, one registrar, general practitioners, a physician associate and nurse practitioner. The team is well supported by a nurse team leader, urgent care trained nurses, allied health professionals, reception and technical staff. We have very good collegial relationships with local doctors and hold urgent care peer group meetings monthly. We are well suited for training registrars and also general practitioners with a special interest in urgent care. Our clinic has achieved urgent care credentialing and we have developed a system of mentoring based on the Royal NZ College of Urgent Care requirements for trainees.
We are easily accessible to the Hawkes’ Bay DHB Emergency Department and have good support from the medical, surgical and emergency teams in the Hawke’s Bay Hospital in Hastings.

Applicants need to have at least one year of emergency medicine, or urgent care experience, and a valid NZ work visa or citizenship. Orthopaedic experience will be a plus. We are also interested in speaking with GP’s with an interest in training in Urgent Care.
