Remember why you got into medicine? To make a real difference. To innovate and challenge yourself. To touch lives and shape futures for your patients, their families… even the whole community? At Tamaki Health, we are that why. And this is your opportunity to get right down to it.

As the largest independent private healthcare group in New Zealand, making an impact for those who need it most is more than what we do – it’s why we exist, and right now, we need passionate doctors with general and urgent care experience to join us across a range of roles. Interested?
White Cross Henderson is looking for a Deputy Medical Director to join the team. You will be given ongoing training and support to develop into the role. You will provide clinical leadership, direction and governance within the clinic. Ensuring that high quality healthcare services are provided to White Cross patients. You will contribute to the effective teamwork within the clinic and uphold the Tamaki Health values.

Why you’ll thrive

You know it better than anyone. There are certain qualities in a doctor that you just can’t teach. It’s a dedication to the role. To the care. An empathy that drives you to help each and every patient achieve their best possible outcome. Our practices are filled with these kinds of doctors. It’s why we thrive, and it’s why you will too, as you bring your passion for helping others and desire to find new and effective ways to do so. You’ll be confident working autonomously in clinic, and constantly energised to work – sometimes at all hours, and in tougher spots, but always for a cause that’s worth it. You’ll feel empowered to help and always be appreciated by the tight-knit team behind you.

Of course, you’ll also be able to tick off the below:

Current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
Willing to undertake formal Urgent Care training
Minimum of 2 years’ experience post-graduation
Current Medical Indemnity Insurance
Current ACLS certificate
Excellent English written and communication skills
Self confident and motivated
Can work collaboratively within a team

Our why

There’s never been a better time to join us at Tamaki Health. Each day, we’re responsible for the treatment of over four thousand patients, and that’s growing – fast. With over 40 general practice and urgent care clinics from Whangarei to Christchurch, we are always innovating, moving upwards and forwards, so that we can ensure that any patient who needs care can find it.

You’ll soon notice the difference that comes with joining an organisation with growth at its core, as you’re constantly supported to grow along with us. If there’s a training opportunity or area for upskill you have your sights on, we’ll back you every step of the way. The care we provide is diverse, which means plenty of opportunity for you to expand your experience, wherever you’d like to. What’s more, our teams are a warm, supportive bunch where the care doesn’t stop with the patients. If you’re a conscientious worker who looks out for your teammates and enjoys imparting your own wisdom as much as you do learning from others, you’ll fit right in.

So, what’s your why? If making a real impact and putting your talents to work for the community is what drives you, let it bring you here, where you’ll feel the rewards of working for that why, every single day.
