The Organisation

Kimi Hauora Wairau Marlborough Primary Health (MPH) promotes and supports quality community health services by leading and coordinating a range of health care services and programmes through its contracted General Practices, the Marlborough Community Health Hub, Marlborough Urgent Care, and other Primary Health providers e.g., Māori Providers and NGOs.

Marlborough Urgent Care Centre is available for patients with non-life threatening, short-term illnesses or health problems who cannot see a GP.  The centre is based at Wairau Hospital in Blenheim. We are an RNZCUC approved training facility and have successfully met Urgent Care accreditation.

The Role

Ideally you would be an Urgent Care fellow or trainee, who strives to deliver quality patient care within the Urgent Care medical and injury setting. We require a minimum of 24 hours per week, working rostered shifts.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Medical assessments, examinations, interventions and referrals
  • Accurately documenting patient conditions and clinical decision making
  • Contribution to quality improvement activities within the UCC
  • Contribution to the medical community
  • Attending and participating in relevant CME supporting activities

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be professional, empowered to help, motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be an experienced health professional with a current NZ Annual Practicing Certificate, Indemnity insurance cover, NZ residency or valid NZ work visa. Appointments are dependent on a satisfactory safety check as per the NZ Children’s Act 2014.
