Thank you to those who attended the RNZCUC Virtual Bootcamp last Saturday. We hope that you found the mix of presentations and discussions educational and that they will help your practice of urgent care medicine. Attendees will have received a link to a short feedback survey to allow us to make tweaks to improve future Bootcamps.

AGM 2024 and Goodfellow Symposium

The Executive Committee has decided that we should return to the in-person AGM format that we ran successfully prior to COVID. We will be holding the 2024 AGM at 6pm on Saturday 23 March 2024 at the Due Drop Events Centre. It will be transmitted via zoom for those who cannot join us in person.
Now is a great moment to add the date to your calendar for 2024. We look forward to meeting you at the Goodfellow Symposium (we will have an urgent care ‘lounge’ area), and the AGM on the Saturday night.

Clinical Leadership Survey

If you are a medical or clinical director in urgent care (or associate director) or have been one in the past or have been recently offered a leadership position, please take a moment to complete the survey by answering the following questions. It should take about 10 minutes to complete the survey.
The results will provide insight into the leadership opinions and experience of clinical leaders in urgent care. The tabulated results will be used in developing leadership education for the RNZCUC. Your answers are anonymous and the results will be made non-identifiable. Thank you for your time.

Registrar annual membership/training programme fee

This is a reminder to all registrars who receive health workforce funding that the funds are used to cover training programme courses, events, and other items such as marking of papers. It does not automatically cover the College membership/programme administration fee. It has always been so. See the Funding Opportunities section on this page of the website.

As we look to 2024 and our contract with health workforce, please note that there is the possibility that the College will charge an annual fee even to those funded by health workforce.

HDC eLearning

We received an email from HDC asking us to share the link to a video for consumers explaining the code of rights. Their excerpt text read:
When you use a health or disability service in Aotearoa New Zealand, you have the protection of the Code of Rights.
It’s important that everyone knows their rights so they can ask questions, seek support, and ensure their voices are heard. The Health and Disability Commissioner has produced an animated video to explain your rights so you can ask questions, get support and make sure your voices are heard.
The video is in te reo Māori and English, we encourage you to share them to make sure everyone knows their rights.”

You can find the video in te reo Māori and English on the HDC website at www.hdc.org.nz/your-rights/videos.
