Registrar representative for AWG
The Accreditation Working Group (AWG) is looking for a registrar representative to join. The AWG is tasked with developing future changes to the urgent care training programme based on recommendations by the MCNZ accreditation assessment done on the College in 2022. These changes are likely to significantly affect registrars, which is why the AWG is urgenltly seeking a registrar representative. No governance or committee experience is required. Please email regsc@rnzcuc.org.nz if interested.

Professional Development Plan
We have noticed that many doctors are not using the option within UCCIS to record their Professional Development Plan (PDP). To acces this in UCCIS use the "View Goals" button, visible in your TPS or CPD plan at the top right.
- Everyone is required to have a PDP.
- There is a template available on the website but you may record your PDP in whatever template you wish.
- The UCCIS PDP goal-planning function ("View Goals") provides for:
- "Area" - the theme or field for the goal
- "Goal" - the actual goal you wish to acheive
- "Actions" - the activities you intend to complete to achieve the goal.
- You are able to link activities shown in your timeline to the goals listed in your PDP in UCCIS.
If you do not use the "View Goals" section for your PDP (ie if you use an alternative template), please record your goals (at least the title) in the "View Goals" section. Without this we may require you to send in your PDP template at each CPD/TPS check.
It is also a requirement of the structured annual conversation that your peer discusses your PDP with you.

Calling the office and no answer? Please leave a message
We're often unable to answer the telephone each time it rings. Sometimes we are in meetings, or already attending to something we cannot leave. We receive an email with a recording of your message when you leave one. We aim to promptly attend to messages, so please consider leaving a message if we don't answer.
If you do leave a message, please speak slowly and leave a number we can call you back on.

Member consultation on College strategy
The Executive Committee is meeting in mid October to discuss the strategy for 2024 onwards. As part of the process, we're consulting with members. The GM will send out a consultation document during August, and we have set aside time on the morning of Sunday 17 Sep to hold a zoom webinar / meeting to follow up on ideas proposed. The results of the member consultation will be presented to the Executive Committee at the October meeting.

Seeking presenters for the 2023 Urgent Care Bootcamp
We are seeking expressions of interest to present at the RNZCUC Bootcamp on 16 September 2023.
This year’s Bootcamp is virtual, following the pattern we’ve started (swapping between an in-person and virtual Bootcamp each year).
Presentations should be no more than 15 minutes. They’ll be grouped with three others, and presenters will be asked to join a panel for that group for the Q and A session. We are keen to hear talks that cover important urgent care topics; new developments as well as those reinforcing long-standing best practices, that demonstrate urgent care’s vital role in the health system, and highlight the many benefits we bring to the community.
Presenters receive discounted attendance to the rest of the day's events.
To express your interest, please complete this form.
