News from the College

Tēnā koe Dr subscriber,

As well as information about the AGM, we have a few reports this month, with important information especially for registrars.

AGM

As many are aware, we did not achieve a quorum at the AGM on Tuesday 25 March. We are required by Society rules to hold an AGM each year within 15 months of the previous one.
We have set a date for the AGM: Tuesday 6 May at 6pm (NZ time).
The AGM will be held using the zoom webinar service.

I will reopen voting in mid-April for the 6 May AGM. To ensure that we achieve a quorum and the necessary votes, I will include an option for members to reply by email and appoint a proxy. Despite this being offered, I recommend voting online to record your vote rather than leaving it with a proxy. This also mitigates IT/internet or clerical errors.

As in previous years, I will send reminders to those who have not voted or appointed a proxy. Once you have voted or appointed a proxy (or advised us of your absence and do not wish to appoint a proxy), we remove you from the list of those to be sent a reminder.

This year the Executive Committee will propose an increase in the membership fee to $1300 (GST excl), and that those registrars funded by Te Whatu Ora for their training programme costs are charged a membership fee that is 50% of the regular membership fee.

All reports submitted to the March AGM will be carried forward to the May AGM. I will include a link to the folder in the email I send when formally opening voting.

Ngā mihi,
Adrian
General Manager RNZCUC

Reports

  • Education committee update, with several important updates on behalf of the education committee.
  • DCT report with reminders about changes to the training programme.
  • DPD report with important information for Fellows about the requirement for an ongoing professional development plan.
  • This month's General Manager's report covers key developments and plans across governance, education, accreditation, and strategic planning.
  • Finally, there is an upcoming Registrar-led peer training session being organised by the Registrar Subcommittee. This is one of several planned this year. We will aim to share dates of future ones so that trainees can reserve dates in their busy calendars.
