AGM and nominations for Executive Committee vacancies

The AGM will be held at 6pm, Saturday 23 March 2024 at the Goodfellow Symposium (Dew Drop Centre, Manukau, Auckland). Online access (via Zoom webinar) will be provided. Read more here...

The period for nominations to the Executive Committee is now open and ends at 9am Friday 8 March. Voting for all positions will open at 3pm Friday 15 March and close 3pm Saturday 23 March. Read more here...

The workforce survey is closing next week. If you haven't already completed it, please help us to help you by completing it now. Responses are confidential.

We have now opened the College Annual Survey. This will close at the end of February, giving us enough time to review the results and inform the AGM. This is an important survey as it provides us with valuable information so that we may modify policies and processes to best support you. You may claim up to one hour of CPD for completing this survey.

Supervision - changes to supervision appraisal meetings

The Education Committee has implemented changes to the number of formal supervision meeetings (which require the appraisal form to be completed and submitted). With immediate effect, the requirements are:
  • Junior registrars - remains at four formal meetings per year.
  • Senior registrars - changed to three formal meetings per year.
  • Accelerated Pathway registrars - remains at one formal meeting every three months.

Post-graduate course in POCUS

The University of Auckland is scoping the feasibility of developing a Post Graduate Qualification in Point of Care Ultrasound and Echo for Clinicians. They believe that this would be of interest to a wide range of clinicians in acute care settings, including urgent care. Please take 2 minutes to complete the following survey to help them gauge if there is enough interest for them to continue with course development plans.

MCNZ elections

MCNZ elections are coming up in 2024 and nominations are now open.
From 20 February to 22 March 2024 the medical profession will vote to choose four doctors as nominees to the Medical Council. The vote is your opportunity to be involved in the governance of the Council as your regulatory body, both as a voter and potentially as a candidate.
