We’ve received an urgent request for more doctors from the clinical lead for the Managed Isolation and Quarantine facilities in Auckland, Dr Campbell Brebner.

The work consists of providing medical services to guests at the quarantine facility which includes primary and Covid related healthcare. There is a nursing team on-site and a mental health team is being established. On-site medical cover is required 8am-8pm 7 days per week, with a roster for overnight call. The permanent medical workforce is headed by one full-time Fellow RNZCUC, with one part-time GPEP2 registrar in support. In temporary support is one Fellow RNZCGP. They are seeking additional support.

- Doctors working here would not be able to work elsewhere.
- Per earlier College advice, we recommend that doctors who are over 60 or have a condition that increases Covid-19 risk (such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, obesity and diabetes) avoid direct contact with patients who have or may have Covid-19.
