The Urgent Care Examination (UCPEX)

The UCPEX examination is held in November.

The examination comprises a two hour written paper, and an OSCE (objective structured clinical examination).

A clear pass in RNZCUC's clinical notes audit is required before sitting.

Doctors may sit the UCPEX examination without attending the Urgent Care Course; however the UCC is compulsory for Fellowship from 2012.

Doctors do not need to be enrolled in the RNZCUC training programme to sit UCPEX.

If places for the exam are limited, priority will be given to RNZCUC trainees.

It is strongly recommended to formally join the training programme before enrolling for UCPEX or the Urgent Care Course.
